I Don’t Work Here

It’s a hot day. I stop to get gas and decide to fill up my “bubba mug” with a cold drink.

.99 cents refills, so much cheaper than a  bottle drink even if I won’t drink it all.  Last week I threw away the reusable straw that came with the mug because I couldn’t clean it well. I grab a throw away straw to use for today as I couldn’t find any reusable straws for sale.

The lady behind the counter is wearing a shirt with the logo of the store on it and a name tag. She tells me the price of my purchase and I give her a $1 bill and some change. I needed a few pennies back and as she is completing the transaction I ask if they ever sell the reusable straws for the mugs as replacements.

Her response,” I don’t know, let me ask. I don’t work here”….

umm……
